Energy saving tips for Australian homes

Energy saving tips for Australian homes

Today’s blog comes courtesy of our friends at HalfPrice.com.au, who specialise in discount window shutters and blinds. They’ve put together an infographic of Energy Saving Tips in Australian Homes and there’s a lot of good stuff in there.

The infographic features three sections: Interesting facts, how to save energy room by room, and home improvements you can invest in for longterm savings. My personal highlights are:

  • Electricity prices in Australia have risen over 500% in the past 30 years – the only way to counteract this is by reducing usage, and that’s where these energy saving tips come into their own.
  • Just by turning appliances off at the wall, you’ll save about 10% a year on electricity – and there are devices like the Eco Switch that make this super-easy.
  • Replace old technology – do you, like me, run a 20 year old fridge in your garage? Ditch it and save a few hundred dollars a year on energy – talk about a false economy!

Anyhow, without further preamble, here’s the infographic:

At Bulk Energy, we can help you save money on energy in two ways: Firstly, by helping you to reduce electricity consumption and secondly, but helping you renegotiate your current deal with the retailers. We’re also strong advocates for renewable energy and can put you in touch with a retailer who shares your values in this regard.

We can look after your gas and electricity needs and work with all the major Australian power companies, our service is free to you (we’re paid by the winning retailer) and of course, there’s no interruption of service if you do switch suppliers.
